Jessica Fell

Community Worker and Project Officer - Anti-Racism Bystander Action Training

Jess joined the CDO team in August 2014.  She has always had a passion for working for social justice.  After graduating with a Bachelor of International Studies in 2013, she sought to be a part of work centered around advancing social justice as well as advocacy for the disadvantaged in our communities.  She interned at Youth Action, researching the issues experienced by young people in social housing, before becoming involved in the work of the Sydney Alliance, particularly around affordable housing and leadership training in schools.  Jess believes in building the capacity of communities so that people have the dignity of being able to act for themselves to address the challenges they face.  Jess is excited to be working with the CDO in St George and Sutherland, where she was born and bred, and in the Inner West, where she now lives.  She is particularly passionate about building the capacity of young people as the next generation of leaders in our communities.

Ciantal Bigornia

Community Worker

Prior to joining the team in June 2015 Ciantal had completed a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science in Government and International Relations then came to the non-profit sector through the Sydney Alliance. First as an intern, and then as the interns coordinator, she worked on the public assemblies throughout Sydney in the lead up to the 2015 State Election. Through this she was exposed to the different sectors of civil society and was moved by how unions, community organisations and faiths could actually work together for the common good and was drawn to understanding how they aim to achieve justice. This then lead to her working for Unions NSW providing organising and administrative support to organisers and workers in Western Sydney, and volunteering and interning for other civil society organisations. Ciantal is excited to continue this work for the common good in the community sector in the South and the Inner West.
