What is the St George Sutherland District?

  • The St George Sutherland Sydney Alliance District engages local people and organisations in local issues, develop and build their capacity to act on the issues they are affected by and thus empower them to act as leaders in the local community

  • Through the District team local people are able to have their voices heard

  • The District team facilitates the building of relationships between and among local people and local organisations, increasing their power to address issues affecting the local community

  • The District team and its work contribute to promoting a vibrant democracy of engaged, active citizens

On track at last: Arncliffe railway station upgrade

The eagerly-sought upgrade of Arncliffe railway station is set to get under way.

It will provide four new lifts, two family accessible toilets, two new accessible parking spaces, upgraded CCTV and an improved transport interchange on Firth Street with sheltered bus stops and a new kiss and ride zone.

Transport accessibility and airport train fares will be discussed tonight at a community meeting in Gymea. ‘‘People are concerned about transport accessibility,’’a director of Community Engagement Services and a spokesman for Sydney Alliance, Stewart Prins, said.
